header picture.....

The header picture is of me when I was a little girl. I posted it in honor of my little girl, and to prove to some people that Maddie did get her curly hair from her mama!
Thank you.

Monday update:

Man, I've been slacking on the blog again, oh well. I will have more time once this week is over. This mama is working hard this week, because a sweet little girl will turn 4 on Saturday! YAY!!! And that means birthday party time!
Meanwhile I've been doing some cleaning to get the house ready.
Stu fixed the door handle to our back door, so last night I took it upon myself to clean the thing. It needed it.
There is always this black mark that is made on the wood trim board when you open and close the door. I was trying to think how to remove such a thing.....Then I thought why not try it. (Kate: this one's for you) I took a magic eraser and rubbed it on all that icky black stuff..

And IT WORKED!! I swear this is one of the best cleaning products ever made.

Food for thought......

Today's topic is food! Yum. I figured it's been a while since I have talked about some concoction that I've whipped up in the kitchen. Let me say that this dish is my new favorite thing to make. Next to spaghetti of course.
Here's what you will need:
Package bone less, skin less chicken breasts.

I pan fry the bird with a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil. Season chicken with pepper and salt. This gal goes easy on the salt.

Next, boil up some pasta! My favorite. I use Rotini noodles for this dish, but you could use what ever you like.

When the pasta is cooked, drain and toss the pasta into your favorite casserole dish. Next you are gonna need some of this. Butter. Or as I say "Butta". I cut up about 2-3 tablespoons and let it melt over the hot pasta. Hey I didn't say this was a healthy meal.

Now mix the butta in with the pasta.

Now that the chicky is cooked, cut it in to pieces and toss in with the pasta.

Here's where I like to add my seasoning. Now if you have a child in the house, they come in handy for this part.
I add dried parsley, and a little garlic salt.
Yes my child is wearing a pumpkin costume, but that's another topic.

Now here comes the special ingredient. I LOVE this stuff.

Pour the whole jar on top of the pasta and chicken. Then mix it all together. Caution:Here is where you will start drooling.

Next cover the dish with shredded mozzarella cheese. My fave. This task is also good for the kids.

Then when the cheese is on, slap that puppy in the oven @ 350 for about 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is all melted and golden bubbly!

Once it comes out of the oven, have some garlic bread near by and dig in!

We are so proud......

Well, she did it.
Maddie graduated from her first year of pre-school. And we couldn't have been more proud.
Tomorrow is her last day of school, and then it's bring on the summer time! Then when fall comes around, it will be back to school.
Here are some pictures from her graduation ceremony. It was too cute.
Ready to go in to the church.

Here comes the class. I tried to get video of Maddie as she was walking down the isle, but she saw me, and she stopped and wasn't going to go up with the class, but thankfully she did.

Singing their songs they learned in school. Maddison managed to sing along with one of the songs, then the rest of the time she just hung out. The next two pictures show that really well.

Here she is waving. Which went on for about 2-3minutes. She saw both her Grandpa's sitting in the audience and had to wave "hi."

Now here she is just chillin. She's all the way over on the far right, with both arms stretched out.I don't have a clue why she did this. She is definitely her father's daughter.

She got her diploma.

Here is the graduate with her wonderful teacher Miss Dana. The world needs more people like Miss Dana. She truly loves all the kids that come into her classroom and it shows on their smiling faces.

Rain, what rain?

Mother nature blessed us this last week with rain. And lots of it.
I believe that the rain gauge at the farm said 3 inches. And I took some pictures to prove it.
We needed some rain, but not this much.
Whenever we have a large amount of rain, the small pond that is down at the farm can't hold it all. So it over flows and runs across the grass and down the drive way and makes ruts in the gravel. It is unbelievable what water can do to landscaping.
However Maddie thought it was cool that a "small" river was flowing down through the drive way.
Here are a few pictures of the destruction.
This puppy is full!

.

Now that's done, this mama has a roast in the slow cooker. I've been smelling it's aroma all afternoon, and I am ready to go and stuff my face!

Super girl......

It's Friday, YAY! I just like saying that.
Here is another project I finished for Maddie. Her new nickname is "Super Girl!".
She is always taking the kitchen towels and puts them around her neck and runs around the house like a super hero.
So I finally busted out my new sewing machine that I got fer Christmas and got to work. Nothing like letting it collect dust for 6 months before I actually use it. (hehe) I see some new pillows for the living room in the near future, but one thing at a time.

Added some "bling"

A Super Girl must have lots of shinny stuff.

Here's the finished product! Not too bad if I say so myself.

I'm in love with this.....

For Mother's Day, my wonderful husband took me to dinner and a movie. Of course we had to see "Iron Man 2". I think I got tricked. But it was a good movie.
So after the movie, we stopped off at Barnes & Noble book store.
Stewart didn't have a clue what to get me for Mother's Day ( i think that was just an excuse), so I told him I would just pick out my own gift in the book store.
Fair enough.
Walking around the book store, racking my brain tyring to think of something that I really want.....then an employee's voice comes over the intercom.."Attention all shopper's the time is 9:45 and the store will be closing in 15 minutes, please make your final selection and head to the check out, thank you".
So then my mind really starting racing. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the words cook book. Then *ta-da* a light came on, and said "hey dummy-get the cook book you were wanting!"
So I scooted over to the cook book section and nothing.
So Stewart asked a nice lady that worked there, and she said, "Oh sorry, but that book is all sold out." She was nice enough to call to the other store to see if they had any.
They had one book left.
So they put the book on hold and the next day it was mine!
I am in love with it.

It's called the Pioneer Woman Cook Book. If you can find one, buy it.
I am obsessed with her blog too. If you have a few hours, click on her blog under my blog list, and read it. You will love it too, trust me.

La de da.....

Nothing exciting has been happening at our house, except for the weather.
So far we've been having a pretty mild, dry Spring. That was until this week started. Every night we have been under sever thunderstorm warnings and tornado watch. But that's Kansas for ya.
I just pray we don't have to run to the storm shelter anytime soon.
My friend Kate and I had been making plans to take 4 giggly girls to the zoo. So last Monday was the day that we were going to go. The weather was supposed to be partly cloudy and like 78degrees. Well, that didn't happen. In stead it was raining and like 68 degrees. So we opted for indoor play. We took the girls to the mall and let them run around in this kids play area, ate our sack lunches and went back to Kate's house to play and watch a movie. The kids didn't mind, they had a great time.

Back seat Bailey and Kennedy, front seat Maddie and Gentry is driving.

This picture cracks me up.

Mother's Day turned out pretty good. Stewart said he had no idea what to get for me, so I picked out my own gift. Which is alright by me, I got something I wanted. I will tell you about it next time. Here's a sneak peak, if you can figure it out.

Fun day Friday....

It's Friday Yay! Not that it matters that much. Everyday seems like Friday to me!
But today was a wonderful Friday. Got my hair done. I always feel like a "new" woman after. Thanks to my bestest friend/hairdresser Kate! Check out her blog under my blog list.(KDKG Blog) She has two beauties of her own, soon to be three!
I haven't blogged all week. Shame on me, but I haven't really been taking pictures either. But I'm sure since the summer is upon us, that will soon change.
Miss D.Q is ready to go swimming. Well it's partly my fault. I bought her a new swimsuit. But if I wait too long to buy one, then they won't have her size.
Nothing exciting has happened this week, so I will leave you with a few pics.

This picture is almost 31 years old. (eeek) If you can't figure it out, it's me and my twin brother when we were a few months old. Yep, our Mom had two at the same time. I don't know how my parent's did it, but we are both still here.
Happy Mother's Day!

Weekend up-date...

This mama is pooped.
Allergies have taken over my head again. I'm sure planting the flower's didn't do me any favors. So I stayed inside on Saturday and cleaned out Maddie's room, and put up a new bed for her. Well, it's new to her anyway. It was my old bed. I knew we kept it around for some reason. Maddie loves her bigger bed. Good thing too, she kept falling out of her little toddler bed.
This can't be comfortable.

New Butterfly sheet's to match her room.

And a new comforter! Gotta love Wal-Mart!

This one even has a little "bling" on it.

That's all the update I have for today. Hope everyone has a good week. And mom's don't forget to drops those hints to the fellas, since next Sunday is Mother's Day!
