Weekend Update.....

I did a double whammy on this post, so there are plenty of picture's to look at.
The first set are of Maddie doing one of her favorite things, riding in the Polaris RZR(Razor). She loves it. The other night she wanted to drive, so with a little help from Daddy, we drove around at the farm.

Here's the second half. More pictures of Maddie at her last few days at swim lessons.
She made it through like a champ and passed level 1. Next year she can take level 2.

Yes, Maddie is in this picture. She's the blob under the water.

Hope everyone is staying cool!

This is not good.....

Living in the country, I've come to except that there are bugs.
You get houseflies, junebugs, mosquito's, and the occasional infestation of grasshoppers or moths, but this I will NOT stand for.
Let me set the story for you.
Last night Maddie would not go to sleep, So I rocked her for a while. Thinking that she was out, I went to take her to bed and she was still awake. So then Stu gave it a try. So I turned off the lights and flipped on the nightlight in the living room. Then I went and played on the computer for a while.
It was about 12:15am, and I shut off the computer. I went out in the living room and Stu and Maddie were both passed out in the chair.
So I woke up Stu, so we could put Maddie to bed. I went over to the hallway and turned the light on. By that time Stu was getting out of the chair to take Maddie to her room. I was behind Stewart as he started heading to Maddie's room, then all of the sudden he stopped and started backing up. I was like "what are you doing?"
Stu's eyes were the size of our dinner plates, and he was shaking his head...and there in the hallway was this.

Yes folks that is a spider. It was the biggest one I've ever seen, and the fact that it was in my house made it even worse.
I hate spiders. I would rather deal with stray dogs in my yard, than deal with these dang things.

This is an "after" snap shot. My camera was in the computer room at the time when this nasty thing was sitting in the hallway. There was NO WAY I was going to walk past it to take it's picture while it was still movable.

I was thankful that Stu was home to help kill this thing. And thank God it didn't go into Maddie's room to live. The scariest part of the whole thing was the fact that I walked by it in the dark twice! I will have nightmares for a week now.

Ugh.... the heat...

Well, it's official. The dry heat wave has taken over our poor yard again this year.
It's so sad to see, but I am praying for some rain, and soon.

Right now, the rain train is becoming my new best friend. We have been watering the yard at night. Don't know if it's going to do any good, but you have to try.

Especially when your yard is so dry you have giant cracks in the ground. Lord if they get any bigger, I'm afraid our child will get swallowed up in one.

That's all that I can report as of now. It's too hot out during the day, so most of my afternoon is spent indoors. Unless Maddie and I decide to go to the pool.
Swim lessons will be over this Friday. I will take more pictures at the end of the week. I wish I would have today. Maddie climbed out of the side of the pool all on her own. Then she wanted to jump back into the pool off the side, but I told her to use the steps to go back into the pool. That could have been a disaster.
Hope everyone is staying cool.

Swimming Lessons

Miss Maddie started her swim lessons this week, and on Wednesday I actually remembered to take my camera! YAY!
So far Maddie is doing really well. But I figured she would, the child LOVES the water. She will stick her face in the water, and she's almost to where she will put her whole head under.
Today she did really well. She even got on one of the floaty boards and kicked her feet across the pool.
Here are a few pictures.....stay tuned for more.

It's H.O.T- HOT!

Man is it hot out or what.
This week Maddie started swim lessons. She is doing very well in her class. Sorry I don't have any pictures of her swim class today. I will try to remember to grab my camera tomorrow.
She is taking her swim lessons at the city pool in Douglass. Her class time runs from 12noon-12:40. And let me say that it is HOT sitting there watching these kids bop around in the refreshing water. Today I almost got up and just jumped in the deep end and I wouldn't have cared that everyone else was watching, cause I was sweating like a stuffed pig.
Last week, before the July heat wave started, I was out pulling my wonderful, giant weed collection from around the house, and I was this thing...

I'd never seen a Caterpillar this big before. It was kinds neat.

I picked up a stick to try and move it, then I realized that it was snacking on this weed.

This is the last I will ever see of he or she, because my loving, soft hearted, creature admiring husband sliced and diced it with the weed eater. Thanks honey.

I got tagged.......

Ok,my blog got tagged by Kate so here goes. Sorry I didn't do this sooner Kate, But it took me a diet Coke and a few "ah-ha" moments to figure out how to get this on here. But my slow brain finally figured it out.

1. What’s your staple meal (ie. what meal do you cook most often when you can’t be bothered to be adventurous)?
My staple meal is always Hamburger Helper. Mostly Cheeseburger Macaroni. It's easy to fix and I know that everyone in this house will eat it. Slap some garlic bread with it and chow down.

2. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I always wanted to be a Veterinarian. But that didn't work out. Plus I'm slow at math, so I probably would still be in college. But I have worked for Vet's since I was 17, so I guess that's better than nothing. I love animals. If it has four legs and fur, I have to pet it and give it some extra love. Well, only the friendly ones. I've seen some not-so-cuddly gritters.

3. What book are you reading at the moment (if any)?
I'm not much on reading books. Mostly it takes me forever to finish one. I read slow and reading puts me to sleep in no time. But I love People magazine. Now that I can read all day long. Does reading kids books count? Because I am a pro at reading Maddie's Animal Babies books.

4. How do you relax?
Well, that depends if Maddie takes a nap. Usually she doesn't, so when I get the chance to relax, it's after she goes to bed. I usually relax on the computer or watch a movie.

5. What color are the interior walls of your home?
Which room? The whole house used to be all white. I can't stand all white walls. So I've painted a few rooms with some color.
Kitchen is Amber Yellow and a cream color.
The Living room is cream and one wall is called Rafia.
The Master bedroom is painted a greenish khaki color. Can't remember the name of it.
Miss Maddie's room is half light purple and white.
Master bath is cream.
The other bath and computer room are next on my list.

6. What is your guiltiest pleasure?
That would be ice cream. I love the stuff. Can't get enough of it. Blue Bunny makes the best sugar free ice cream flavors. Yes I have to eat sugar free due to genetics and post pregnancy hormones. I have what is called Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). I have to watch my sugar intake, and carbs. Thoes will hurt ya.

7. What time is bedtime and getting up time?
Usually my bed time is between 11:00pm and 11:30. Every now and then I try to make it to bed by 10:30pm, if I'm lucky. Usually when Maddie hits her bed, I'm going around the house cleaning here and there. Now getting up time is around 7:00am -7:30am. Since I still don't have a job I don't have to rush around in the morning,so sometimes I get lucky and sleep in til 8:00. Usually Stu's alarm wakes me up, and Madddie usually gets up by 8:00am. But when school starts we get up by 7:00am.

8. How long do you spend reading blogs (per day or per week)?
Probably too much. Usually I spend about 30-50minutes reading blogs per week. I'm mostly addicted to face book.

Now I am supposed to Tag 2 other people.
Which I don't know who to tag. All the other blogs that I follow have been tagged. So I guess the buck stops with me.

Time goes by.......

I can proudly say that this picture is 5 years old. Yep, five years ago today Stu and I were married. It's only been five years, but sometimes it feels like 15.
We have known each other since we were kids. We grew up in different towns, but we always knew the other person existed. Through out growing up we would see each other on different occasions. Then it wasn't until we were in our mid 20's that we decided to take it further. We dated for 6 months, then Stu asked me to marry him. I was surprised, and so happy all at the same time.
Then 3 months later we headed to Miami, Oklahoma. Yes, Oklahoma. And boy was it hot outside. Got all dressed up and said "I do". And it's been the best 5 years of my life. We have a wonderful home and a beautiful daughter to call our own. So here's to many more just like it. Love you honey!

Let Freedom Ring.....

We had a wonderful 4th of July. The weather wasn't so wonderful. It rained all day off and on. But by the late evening the rain cleared away and we were able to go and enjoy some fireworks.
We didn't buy any this year. Instead we loaded up some chairs, made some popcorn and headed to the Augusta Park to watch them. There were fireworks going off all around us. Maddie loved it.
I took a few pictures. Some of them didn't turn out too well, so I got a few of them on video.
If you want to hear the sound on the video, scroll down and pause the play list at the bottom of the page!
