Thanksgiving wrap-up.....

Well, we survived another Thanksgiving this year. Hard to believe that it's already Christmas time.....
This year we had Thanksgiving dinner at Stewart's parents house. We had enough food to feed an army. Any everything was so delicious! As always. Plus my homemade pumpkin pie. YUM-O!
Here's a few pictures of our weekend. As always I start my Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving... I managed to get it done and snapped a few. It looks like Christmas exploded in my house.(but I LOVE it all) Enjoy the holiday season!
To start off this dear sweet child kept begging and begging and begging to please put together her Gingerbread house. So we did.

My favorite. My "Barbie tree." My Mom helped me start this collection in December 1994. I'm running out of room.

Love this one.

This one has to be my absolute favorite.

This is the very first ornament that started my collection. Dated 1994. It's the 35th Anniversary doll.

This is another one of my faves! A girl can never have too many shoes!

Our big tree in the living room.

Hope that everyone has a good week!

Winter Wendesdays.....

Well this wasn't the full post that I wanted, but this will have to do.
I have more pictures that I wanted to add, but every time I tried to add them, it would take forever, so I gave up for now. I've been trying to post these pictures for over a week.
It's the holiday season! I don't even want to think about it.
Plus the weather is turning colder, which I don't mind. I love the snow! Yes you heard me. I ♥ SNOW! Not the freaky snow that cuts off your power for a few days and puts a 4 foot snow drift in front of your garage and you can't get out.
I enjoy just a nice smooth, crisp layer of white snow. Makes me want to put up the Christmas tree.
Now for a switch... Last Wednesday my brother sent me a text saying it was Winter Wednesday at the Zoo and the admission was just $2 per person! So guess where we went!
THE ZOO!!!! It was really nice. It was 65 degrees, the wind wasn't blowing and the sun was out. Maddie had a big smile on her face, and a large box of popcorn. It was a perfect afternoon.
Here are some pictures from our fun. Not all the animals were out, but we did see quite a few.

Ahhh...the petting zoo. Last time I took Maddie to the zoo, I stayed away from this area. I just knew it would freak her out. But since Uncle Matt was there, we went this time. I had back up helper. When we got to the area where the "pellet eating" creatures were, we noticed something was much different. The head butting fur balls were gated off in their own little area. So now they wouldn't charge at you when you were at the food machines. WTH! When we were kids and you went to this section of the Zoo it was do or die. You would get bombarded by 5 or 6 of them so they could be the fist to get all of 7 pellets that you paid a whole quarter for. I was in shock. But also happy that my child wasn't clung to me and screaming in total fear.
Although I can't say much, because there is a childhood photo of me (somewhere) in this section at the Zoo, where I am in a stroller screaming my head off.

Happy Holidays!

Keeping up with things

I don't have any pictures to share. Well, not today anyway.
I need to dust off the ole camera and start snapping. I just wanted to let you all know that you can now find a link to my other blog up in the left hand corner. I also added it to the blog list as well.
I am working on some new tile designs and have posted a couple new ones. I also would like to note that I can custom make some as well, so if you have a favorite saying, let me know and I can transform it onto a tile!
Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Trying something new......

I have two things to share with you all today.
Here's number one:
Remember when I posted a few months back about the pipeline that was going in the ground? You don't? Shame on you. (just kidding)
Well just to refresh your memory (lord knows I need refreshing from time to time)
here's what it looked like before. Notice all the big huge piles of dirt.

Being the blond that I am, would always ask myself, "I wonder if they are going
to leave the huge dirt piles, or smash them back down"? Hummmmm
Hey, when you get used to driving by this almost everyday, you start to ask yourself these type of silly questions.

Well, it just so happens that I got an answer to my question.
The answer:
YES! They did smash them back down. And let me tell ya, it looks awesome!

Don't leave just yet! Here's the second thing.
I am trying something new. I'm not sure where it will take me, but hopefully somewhere good. Last week I posted that I have been working on some other projects at home that I am VERY excited about. Well, today I am going to take the leap and share them with you.
www.text-tiles.blogspot.com
Yes, I started another blog. (as if I need to spend more time on the Internet)
Take a look and let me know what you think.
Have a great day!

Halloween re-cap

We survived another Halloween.
I can't believe that I flipped my calender over and realized that we only have 2 months left of this year.
Where does the time go?
Last Friday Maddie had a Halloween party at pre-school, and all the kids dressed up in their costumes, and went on a hay ride and picked out a pumpkin to take home.
Here are some pictures from our Halloween weekend.

Don't we look good! Stu was a Christmas tree, I was a Christmas gift and Maddie was "Jessie" from Toy Story. And yes, both Stu's costume & my costume made by yours truly!

Maddie got lots of goodies.

Hope everyone has a good day!
