Summer fun

I love Kansas. I've lived here all my life, but there's one thing I always dread....the summer heat.
So I've been trying to come up with ideas on how to stay cool. I think this is the best idea I've had so far.
Got the package at Dollar General. $2 for 200 water balloons. It even comes with this nifty cap that fits on the water hose to fill the balloons.

Aw. Here's our Princess right now. This was before she knew about the fun she was going to have. She got mad because I told her to wait for her Dad before she could go outside.

Maddie loved them. We ended up using the whole bag that afternoon. Next time I think a water gun might be more fun........

I'm still here.......

Man I've really been bad about not blogging.
Has it really been that long? Geez I need to pay more attention.
But I guess I could give a million excuses, but mostly I haven't been taking any pictures. I must be ill.
Maddie and I have been spending time going from Douglass swimming pool, to the Augusta swimming pool and to the Mulvane swimming pool. My child LOVES the water. We signed her up for swim lessons, they start next month. I will remember to take my camera. But this mama is going to rock a good tan this summer!
Got tan lines?

I've been seeing this creature around our back porch lately. I'm not sure if it's a lizard or a skink. I've yet to get a picture of it's face. It's a fast little booger, and I don't think it likes seeing this crazy lady with a camera chasing it either. hehe. But if I see it again, look out! It might make it to the blog header picture.

Here are some pictures of the beautiful sunset that I snapped. I would have taken more, but since I am a walking buffet for the giant mosquito's that we have, I headed for the house. Enjoy!

Will she or won't she?

In the evening time if we are outside, Maddie's all time favorite thing to do is to swing. Well the other night, she had a change of heart.
She decided to try out the 'ole slide.
Now normally she begs mommy to go down with her, but this time we tried to get her to go down all by herself. It was tricky, but she did end up doing it on her own.
I wasn't fast enough with the camera and I missed her final exit to the end of the slide, but you get the idea.

Four hyper girls ready to play. Check.

It's birthday party time!
Well, Maddie's birthday went very well. The sun was shinning and even though it was unseasonably warm out, there was a nice breeze and the kids had so much fun. It was such a wonderful day. I still can't believe that my little baby is 4 years old.
Here are a few pictures from the party.....enjoy!

Time to open birthday gifts.

Ready to dig into the cake. If you look at Kennedy in the back ground (to the left)
She looks like she's about to burst waiting for some cake.

Time for some fun in the pool!

Here Maddie and Gentry discovered that if they lean over the side of the pool, the water will come gushing out of the overflow hole.

Maddie and Bailey acting silly.

It was such a wonderful day. Thanks to all who came to help celebrate!

Where did the time go?

Well on Saturday June 5th,2010 my sweet little girl will turn 4 years old.
Where did the time go?
It seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. We were so blessed to have a healthy baby girl. I am still in awww.
Where did the time go?
It's amazing to look back at some of her baby pictures and to see how much she has grown.
Here we are just moments after she was born. She was so small, 6lbs & 6oz. And she looked just like her Daddy. I remember I was so scared, happy, and relieved that I could finally breath, all at the same time. I went 6 days over my due date, and let me just say I WAS ready for this child to be born.

Now here's a face that is worth a thousand words.

This is one of my favorite pictures of her as a baby. So small and so precious.

It went by faster than I expected. Before we knew it we were celebrating her 1st birthday. And each year seems to be getting better and better.
Here she sits at her pink grand piano, and 3 years later she still bangs on the keys.

My how the time has passed us by, and we couldn't have asked for anything more.
So here's to my baby. I can't tell her enough how much we love her. Everyday I wake up and get to see her smiling face and hear her laugh, watch her run and play, fix her meals, give her a bath, read her books, play hide and seek, and hear her ear piercing scream. I thank god everyday for giving me such a wonderful, lovable, happy, and healthy baby girl. We are so blessed.

Happy Birthday Maddison! We love you so much.

Just a "hair" more.......

It's late and I can't seem to unwind my mind, so I figured I'd share some more pictures of my crazy hair from when I was a wee one.
This is in honor of my sweet curly haired angel, who turns 4 on Saturday. (just in case I forgot to mention that.)
So please enjoy.

Now this picture is my favorite. I'm diggin the shirt. But if you look close in the pantry, all the way over to the right. I see a bag of pasta, and a bottle of Elmer's glue! What the? Well that will be handy for any arts and crafts project!
