Update........

I've been slacking on the ole blog here, but oh well. Life goes on.
I guess I can use the excuse that I've been to busy.....but mostly, I've just been too lazy.

Today was Maddie's first day back at pre-school. This year she will go three days a week. Monday, Wednesday and Friday's. She was excited to go back and see all her friends. I was happy that this year she wasn't crying her eyes out when I left.
Oh course, since it was the first day, I left my camera at home.....so I guess I missed that opportunity.
Oh well, life will go on.

Last week I had my wonderful friend Kate, (who is about to give birth here any day now)and here two girls come over and hang out for a while.
The kiddos played 'quietly' (ha ha) while their mommy's did some scrapbooking.
Here is a picture of the aftermath of what can happen to one child's room when there are three-two foot tornado's running all at the same time.
Yes, one of the children, Gentry, has nothing on but her undies. I guess she feels at home at my house.

Stay tuned.........I took Maddie to the Zoo last Friday and tons of pictures to share.

Got pipe?

Woke up this morning and started to get around. I was in the bathroom, getting ready to start slappin on some make-up and I caught this out of the corner of my eye.
The first thing that popped in my head was "What the heck is that?"
A slug. A slug, where in the he** did that thing come from? Who knows. Here lately it hasn't surprised me with all the little creatures that show up.
My first thought was to go and grab the salt shaker and watch the thing squirm, but it was 7:00 in the morning, I was half awake,so I spared the poor thing it's life. Scooped it up with the dust pan and threw it back outside.

This summer we didn't really have anything too exciting to see, well except for this.....
If you haven't heard, there is a pipeline this is coming from somewhere in Canada and it's going all the way down to Texas.
We are part of the lucky few who get to see this thing being built and put in the ground. The crew that has the joy of working on this, have really come along way.
It's really neat to get to see it this close. Part of the pipeline will be going right under our road.

Final destination........

Here are the last of our vacation pictures.
This is one of my favorite places to visit while in Springfield, Missouri.
If you ever get the chance to go there, you have to stop here. This is the "mother" of all outdoor stores!

This was Maddie's favorite thing to look at. Yes folks that is an Alligator. And yes it was real.

This bad boy was HUGE!

This was really neat. The ceiling was decorated to look like you are underwater.

Me,my Mom,my Grandpa & Maddie

4 generations of women. Me,Mom,my Grandma & Maddie. We all share the same middle name.

If you are in Bass Pro, then you have to stop here and stuff your face.
They have this awesome restaurant called Hemingways. It is yummy!

This was our view from our seat at Hemingways. We were on the 4th floor sitting on a balcony.

This guy was the lucky one! He was down in one of the giant aquariums cleaning off the glass.

Say "Cheese!"

Hope you enjoyed them. That's all folks!

Vacation part 3....

Here are some pictures from this beautiful garden that was at this local park that we visited.
Originally we were on a mission to find a Butterfly house. Which we never found. There were no signs or anything to point which way to go.
So we walked around the park instead. But we didn't spend too much time there. It was a little toasty outside.
It was really beautiful. My favorite were these huge pine trees.

This was a sight for my sore eyes! A huge Scrapbook store. We went there on Sunday, and I was crushed to discover it was CLOSED! But I got lucky and we went back the next day.

Stay tuned for a few more pictures.......

Vacation part 2...

Here are a few more pictures from our trip.
This was one of Maddie's favorite things to do everyday while we were there. Picking tomato's from Grandpa's small garden.

My child would never, ever in a million years eat a tomato to safe her life, but my Grandpa has this cherry tomato plant that sprung up in his yard. And I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw my child eat them.

On the road again......

We headed here. The Missouri Department of Conservation. Inside they have a small nature center. It was neat and it was Free!

Outside, they have nature! There is also this huge nature trail that you can walk. But we passed on the trail. The heat took care of that. Here is a model of the nature trail.

This was a small table that had items that kids could touch. There was deer antler's, fur,and feather's that they could play with.

This was neat and kind of spooky. They had this chest that had multiple drawers on it. When you opened a drawer, you got a "surprise." Thank goodness they were all fake.

The nature center also had an outdoor Humming bird garden. You can sit and watch all the birds from inside the center.

Stay tuned for more........
